JUMEME is a mini-grid operator using solar-battery-diesel hybrid power systems connected to medium and low voltage distribution networks in order to supply high quality, highly reliable and affordable electricity to its customers in rural Tanzanian growth centres. The capacity of the systems is designed to support large motors and pumps for productive purposes as well as private homes. JUMEME’s electricity comes with a comprehensive support and development package comprising free consultancy services for local businesses in scaling with electricity, financing components for local companies and private customers as well as a marketing package attracting external investors to the newly electrified community.
